Breaking Ground CSA came about from the verse in Hosea 10:12 and a love for gardening and children. In this verse Hosea tells the people to "break up their fallow ground for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you." This verse really spoke to me, as someone who had a lot of fallow ground, waiting to be put to good use; God's use. The CSA is a program where community members purchase shares in the garden and receive a box of fruits and vegetables each week that have been freshly harvested. A significant portion of the profits that are made from the CSA garden will go to sending kids in our community to Camp Cairn, in Baysville, ON where they can build strong healthy relationships with new friends and with God.
